Preparing for the Challenges of Population Aging in Asia:
Strengthening the Scientific Basis of Policy Development

This study was published during the International conference “Policy Research & Data Needs to Meet the Challenges and Opportunities of Population Aging in Asia” held at Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi on 14th & 15th March 2011.

This report is the result of a unique collaboration between the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, the National Research Council of the U.S. National Academies, and the Science Council of Japan.
